Geri Weldon

Attendance Clerk, North Myrtle Beach High School

Favorite Core Value: Respect

“At a very young age my parents instilled the word respect into my daily habits. Being from the South, ‘yes ma’am, yes sir, no ma’am, no sir’ were very important words in my vocabulary. We had the utmost respect for our elders. Gene was a man that was very much respected and instilled respect from his junior golfers.”

About Geri:

“I worked for Kelly Tilghman’s father Phil for twenty years as his bookkeeper for the Gator Hole Golf Course and Tiente, a partnership he was involved with. I also was the merchandising manager for the Pro Shop. This is where I met Gene and formed a friendship with he and his son Wil. Gene and I were married right after the golf course was sold in 2000.

After the golf course closed I started a totally different career path with the Horry County School System working at North Myrtle Beach High School. This gave me an opportunity to spend more quality time with my children.

I presently reside in Ocean Isle Beach where Gene and I spent many happy years together. I have one older son Wil and younger son John who lives in St Thomas, and a daughter Hayes who currently resides with me in OIB. On January 13, 2017 I lost my best friend and husband. He fought a courageous battle against cancer.

My many hobbies are reading, going to the beach, biking and gardening.”
